Udhaar khata app — lena dena, ek jagah
Last updated: 20 July 2026
Udhaar is not a problem until you cannot remember it exactly. The register works right up to the day a customer remembers a payment differently from you, and there is no dated entry to settle it.
Every entry carries its own date and time
You choose the date and time on each entry rather than being stuck with the moment you typed it - which matters, because entries usually get made in the evening for things that happened during the day.
That timestamp is the whole value. A disagreement about udhaar is almost never about the total; it is about one payment, on one day, that one of you remembers and the other does not.
Customers straight from your contacts
Pick a name from your phone contacts and the number comes with it, so a reminder is one tap and not a search through your phone. Contacts are read on the device only and are never uploaded.
The reminder goes from you, not from an app
The statement is a clean card showing the balance, sent from your own WhatsApp into the customer's own chat. Asking for money is a relationship thing - it should read as coming from you, because it does.
It stays yours
The khata backs up to your own Google account. Change your phone, sign in with the same Gmail, and everything is there. There is an optional app lock on your phone's fingerprint or screen lock, because the person who picks your phone up should not be reading who owes you what.
Questions people ask
Can I keep separate khatas for many customers?
Yes - one per customer, each with its own running balance and full entry history.
Can I send a reminder on WhatsApp?
Yes, as a statement card with the balance, from your own WhatsApp to the customer's chat.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. Entries save offline and sync when the connection comes back.
Can I add an entry for a past date?
Yes. You set the date and time on each entry, so an evening's entries can carry the times things actually happened.
